Imo saves N1b monthly from verification, automation of workers, retirees

Imo State Government has said that it saves N1 billion monthly as a result of verification of bio-data and automation of payroll system of workers’ salaries and pensions.

The state’s Commissioner for Budget, Economic Planning and Statistics, Dr. Christopher C. Osuala, who disclosed this, yesterday, during an Imo Broadcasting (Orient FM) programme commemorating Governor Hope Uzodimma’s one year in office, said that the exercises were conducted and still on going to plug the loopholes of financial wastes orchestrated by some cartels in the past.

MEANWHILE, in its determination to sanitise land matters, the Imo State Government has placed an embargo on allocation of land to all categories of individuals, groups and bodies.

The state’s Commissioner for Lands, Survey and Physical Planning, Chief Enyinnaya Onuegbu, who disclosed this yesterday, said the measure was to ensure strict observance in governance, which the governor has determined to uphold.
