They were arrested during joint operations of the officials of the Imo State Orientation Agency (ISOA), police and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
The convicted persons had their sentences ranged from fine to compulsory Community Service.
However, two of the suspects were discharged for want of evidence.
The trial Magistrate, Mr. Obinna Njemanze ruled that the convicts contravened Section 26 (C) of the Imo State Waste Management Law 5 of 2020.
Speaking after the judgment, the Director General of the ISOA, Chief Ethelbert Okere, said the exercise will be a regular one tailored to curb indiscriminate dumping of refuse in the state.
