Ilebaye celebrates 23rd birthday at Lagos correctional facility

Last year’s BBNaija winner, Odiniya Ilebaye, on Thursday, May 9, 2024, unconventionally celebrated her 23rd birthday at the Special Correction Centre for Girls in Mushin area of Lagos State.

The reality TV star, who’s fondly addressed as Gen-z Baddie, went to the correctional facility with clothes, toiletries, and food items on her birthday, celebrating with the girls.

Trading the usual glitz and glamour for a powerful purpose, Ilebaye, known for her infectious personality and outspoken nature, brought a ray of sunshine to the lives of young women there.

In a brief address, Ilebaye, who just joined the Estol Africa family, shared snippets of her own journey, emphasizing the importance of resilience and perseverance in the face of adversity.

“Your circumstances do not define you,” she reminded them, her words resonating with sincerity. “You have the power to shape your future, regardless of where you find yourself today.”

For the girls, Ilebaye’s visit inspired hope, a reminder that even in the darkest of times, there is light to be found. Her willingness to share her own experiences and offer words of encouragement served as a source of inspiration for many of them.

As the day drew to a close, Ilebaye reflected on the significance of her decision to celebrate at the correctional facility.

“Birthdays are not just about cakes and presents,” she remarked. “They are about spreading love, extending kindness, and uplifting others, especially those who may feel forgotten or overlooked.”
