The Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN) has revealed plans on how it would leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) to build the capacity of governance professionals on capital market operations.

Chairman, Corporate Members and Training Committee, ICSAN, Abiola Laseinde, said this ahead of the institute’s company secretaries and registrars’ forum.

Slated for April 4, 2024, in Lagos, with the theme ‘The Implications of Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity for Capital Market Operations’, she said embracing technology at this time was pertinent, especially, in addressing and eliminating the challenges associated with unclaimed dividends.

According to her, it is about narrowing AI to the capital market, addressing some pinpoints and how to use digital technology to change the ways of thinking, working and expected outcomes.

A member of the committee, Laide Adeyemo, added that it is a capacity-boosting governance forum for professionals in the governance field for company secretaries and registrars, including regulators.

According to her, the forum serves as a platform to acquaint participants with contemporary practices and pertinent governance issues trending in the profession.
