A group, Nigeria Youth in Politics (NYP), has planned to hold a nationwide party for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu over his victory in the February 25, 2023 presidential election.

The group disclosed this, at the weekend, in Lagos during a birthday dinner in honour of Tinubu organised in collaboration with the Tinubu/Shettima Movement. Vice President of the group, Olufowobi Olanrewaju Desmond, who spoke at the event, said Tinubu’s victory during the election was hard-earned.

Olufowobi appreciated the Nigerian youths for their contributions to the emergence of Tinubu as the president-elect, saying that Tinubu’s victory is a victory for the Nigerian youths.

He, therefore, urged them to come together and support the president-elect. On his part, Tinubu Shettima Movement Co-ordinator, Adetokunbo Adesina, accused a cross-section of Nigerians of engaging in religious and ethnic bias. He said: “I am a Christian but I don’t play politics of emotion and that is how it should be. The Muslim-Muslim ticket was the best formula. We all saw they acted like brothers during the campaign.

So, for the first time, we have two people that can be president and vice. So, beyond religion, beyond ethnicity, I think Nigeria has been given a gift of two people that can take this country where it needs to be.”

However, Managing Director of AS Wonder Home and Properties, Dr. Agbi Omobamidele, has pledged to donate 150 cows for the mega birthday and victory celebration for Tinubu.

Also at the event, Chairman of Lagos chapter of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Olusesi Tolulope, said Tinubu had laid down good foundation for youths, especially in education in Lagos State before he emerged as the president-elect. He, therefore, urged all Nigerian students to come together and support Tinubu’s administration.

MEANWHILE, the president-elect has been reminded to keep his campaign promises with artisans and technicians.Head of the Directorate of Artisans and Technicians, Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council, Sanusi Rikiji, made the appeal, yesterday, in Abuja while on a courtesy visit to the Vice President-elect, Kashim Shettima and Director-General of the campaign council, Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State.

He reminded Tinubu of his Renewed Hope manifesto that he would recognise and stimulate entrepreneurship by introducing programmes designed to help Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) grow and also help business owners acquire more skills and necessary knowledge to run a business.

Rikiji, who is the Sadaukin of Zamfara, said if the manifesto is properly executed, there would be an increase the Internally-Generated Revenue (IGR) and Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the country.

He, therefore, called for an urgent need by the incoming administration to improve employment opportunities, address the issue of insecurity and youths’ restiveness.

SIMILARLY, National Coordinator of the Artisans and Technicians in Nigeria, Adeshina Akinyemi, expressed the hope that Tinubu would live up to their expectations.
