Movie star Funke Akindele, who did not win any nominations at the recently concluded African Magic Viewers Choice Awards, has announced a new film project.

The actress announced the production of the new film, Finding Me, on her social media page. She also shared a snippet of the film featuring Femi Adebayo, Joseph Benjamin, and a host of other selected actors yet to be announced.

Funke Akindele who recently lost all nominations for her blockbuster film, A Tribe Called Judah, seems undisturbed. Rather, her focus is on making sure her new project is a success.

Before the announcement of the new film, she had opened up about recent challenges. The title of the new project seems to go along the lines of her past struggles.

‘Underdog Spirit’

Taking to X, the actress wrote, “Being an underdog doesn’t define me, it fuels me. Despite all the challenges I face, I keep pushing boundaries in Nigerian cinema. My success isn’t measured by accolades but by the stories I tell and the lives I impact. Here’s to never give up on your dreams, no matter the odds. #UnderdogSpirit #Persistence #keeppushing”

Meanwhile, taking to the comment section, comedian Cute Abiola asked if the actress is yet to pay her house rent, referencing her wealth of talent and the successful projects she has seen through. The joke about rent often comes up when a person is working hard and taking up a lot of new projects.

Colleague Femi Adebayo also said, “Guys should fasten their seat belts o!” This was likely relating to Akindele’s last project which broke and set a new box office record, after crossing the one billion naira mark.

Although the actress did not give the exact time and date for the latest project, fans are eagerly anticipating it.
