Fubara, Onelga chairman congratulate gallant Super Eagles

Rivers State governor Siminalayi Fubara

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara and Chairman of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Council of the state, Vincent Job, have congratulated the Super Eagles for qualifying for the final of the ongoing African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cote d’Ivoire.

Fubara in a statement, yesterday, commended Stanley Nwabali’s efficiency and determination in the ongoing tournament, which, he said, was remarkable and embodies the spirit of every Rivers youth.

Fubara said: “Congratulations to Nwabali and the entire Super Eagles team on the victories so far. We believe in your abilities and wish you triumph in the finals. Keep shining, knowing you carry the hopes of a proud nation and embody the resilience and aspirations of our youths. We stand with you as you bring dignity to make us proud.”

Also, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Ndu Ajie, Onelga Local Council Chairman, Job expressed optimism at the ability of the ‘gallant’ Super Eagles to lift the trophy on Sunday, especially with the expertise exhibited by the team’s goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali, leading to his winning the highly revered Man of the Match Award in the game against South Africa.

Job also sued for massive investment in sports by governments at all levels, noting that his administration has prioritised the sector, especially football through various competitions, training of players, young talents, referees and others.

He enjoined Onelga youths to eschew idleness, violence, and vandalisation of government critical assets and engage in meaningful ventures, taking a cue from Nwabali, who is a son of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Council.
