Fubara assures residents of safety, good governance

Rivers State governor Siminalayi Fubara

Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has asked residents not to panic despite unfolding challenges in the state, assuring that his administration is determined to protect the life and property of residents.

Fubara gave the assurance during a solidarity visit by the Family Support Group (FSG) at the Government House, Port Harcourt, yesterday.

The group comprising Rivers youths, women and men from the three senatorial districts, as well as 23 local councils, were in the Brick House to show their support to the governor.

The governor, who was represented by the Head of Rivers State Civil Service, Dr. George Nwaeke, said that the state government is for the youths, women, men and every well-meaning Nigerian who wishes the state well.

He assured that his administration would not disappoint their expectations, assuring that he would deliver good governance and quality services across all sectors.

Fubara said that it was gratifying to see such ebullient youths showing undying interest in government, and were also willing to defend their votes.

The governor explained that so many development projects have been completed and opened for public use with many others, like the Port Harcourt Ring Road, still actively ongoing.

He stressed the readiness of the administration to flag off construction of phase two of the real Trans-Kalabari Road from Port Harcourt through Tombia to other communities, as well as the Elele-Egbeda-Omoku Road.

Fubara said: “The entire Rivers State stands in affirmation that we won the election fairly, and deserve to serve out our full tenure. There is not going to be anything that will cut short the popular mandate that you all gave to this administration.”
