Ebenezer Boakye-Manu, a Ghanaian-born content creator, has revealed how those who initially bullied him on social media have become some of his most passionate fans.

Deguy GH faced significant challenges when he first started creating skits. Realising the difficulty of breaking through, he took a step back to re-strategise. Despite the discouragement from critics, he eventually won them over with exceptional content, amassing 156,000 followers on Instagram, 270,000 on YouTube, 615,000 on Facebook, and 2.1 million followers on TikTok.

“My journey as a content creator is a whole lot. In my early stages, cyberbullying was my first challenge, which I overcame with time. I’ve achieved a lot financially, in popularity, and in fame,” Deguy GH shared.

He continued, “Many in the audience love to cyberbully content creators for reasons I can’t tell. I used to experience that, but not anymore because they had no option but to love me for what I do. I’m creating content I love without harming anyone.”

Deguy GH faced numerous challenges, including the constant demand for new content. “As a content creator, you hardly have free time for yourself because millions of people are waiting on your page. However, the good part is you keep paving the way for more fame and money. Initially, low engagement was a big challenge because I didn’t know my niche. Once I figured out my audience’s preferences, I overcame that,” he explained.

One unique aspect of his content is dressing as a lady to portray humorous characters. “The idea of dressing as a lady is because ladies have funny characters. My friend, who also dresses as a woman, taught me how TikTok works, especially in video editing. We know our audience loves seeing us together, so we create more video content as a duo,” Deguy GH said.

From facing cyberbullying to gaining millions of followers, Deguy GH’s story is one of resilience and creativity. His journey demonstrates the power of perseverance and staying true to one’s passion.
