Foundation trains members in effective leadership 

Maxwell Leadership Foundation has trained its members on how to embrace value-driven leadership qualities to be more productive.  The training, which took place in Lagos, was themed: ‘The Winning Edge: Secrets of Success for Leaders’.
  
Vice President of Global Programmes Equip and Maxwell Leadership Foundation, John Griffin, who took the participants through the one-day intensive training programme, said the training was aimed at making participants understand secrets of success that would help them embrace value-driven leadership qualities, which would, turn enable them to value people and lead them well to make them more productive.  
  
Griffin said potential good leaders should think about success and not failure, stating that pain was inevitable in the course of building an effective leader. 
  
According to him, an effective leader should know his intention, and direction and be focused with determination to arrive at his predetermined destination. 
  
Noting that a good leader would imbibe good values, Griffin said possessing positive leadership qualities could help leaders transform their nations.
  
He cited instances of the President of Rwanda, Paul Kagame, one of the leaders he said he admires most right now on the continent of Africa, adding that reflection of his quality leadership traits could be seen in the country, where he could exercise himself up at 2.00 a.m.  
  
He said: “There are 10 facts a prospective effective leader should understand. They include knowing that how he thinks is everything, deciding on his true dreams and goals, focusing on his goals, being ready to take action, never stopping learning, being persistent and working hard, being honest and dependable, not being afraid to innovate among others.”
