Speaking with The Guardian in Uyo, yesterday, the Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation, Dr. Modesty Echefula Onwemadu, said the solar panels were provided under the programme, “Lighting Africa” to illuminate streets in communities across the regions.
Onwemadu disclosed that 240 solar panels had been procured for installation in Umuchulu autonomous communities in Ngor Okpala Council of Imo State.
“I am aware of the power crisis in Nigeria and I am very passionate about our programme, Lighting Africa. We are determined to light up many villages in Southeast and South-South.”
“The Foundation will capture the needs of people in areas such as education, human capital development and general empowerment,” he said.
