The Ayela Charity Foundation(ACF) in partnership with PalmPay and Venture Garden Foundation have hosted children from orphanages across Lagos State in the foundation’s Children’s Fest 2024, aimed at commemorating the Children’s Day.

Speaking at the event with theme: “Dream Big Reach Higher,” Co-founder of the foundation, Bukola Ayela, said the the event focused on putting smiles on the faces of children from orphanages that are difficult to reach.

She said: “In most cases, on Children’s Day, there are parties here and there, but they are not specific for children living in the orphanages, and these are the actual children that need to be celebrated being in an orphanage.

“Hence, we included Muslim homes, Christian homes and people with special needs, thereby bringing inclusion of everybody despite their background or religion.”

Ayela reiterated the foundation’s commitment to supporting humanity, adding that it has reaching out and supporting the less privileged and empowering them with digital skills.

General Manager Vibranium Valley, Mrs Moyo Ashubiojo, who gave a career talk, urged the children to take their studies seriously and seek proper guidance on career choices.

“You can talk to your caregivers to give you guidance on your career. This is the time to start. Seek proper guidance. Take your studies seriously. Your interest matters. Start preparing. There are so many career paths you can tread. Nurture your dreams,be inquisitive,” she said.

Head of marketing and communications at PalmPay, Enakeno Umuteme, said the firm was committed to making impact in society.

“Not everyone is born with a silver spoon, we know celebrating children in orphanages key into our mission and ensure that we reach out to all those that seem that they are not having the same advantage or in the same opportunity as other children out there,” he said.

The thrilling event featured games, dance competition, among others.
