An early morning fire, yesterday, razed the popular raw materials warehouse, identified as Sumal Foods Limited at Oluyole Industrial Estate, Ibadan, Oyo State.
It was gathered that the fire began from the bread section of the warehouse.
The General Manager, Oyo State Fire Service, Yemi Akinyinka, confirmed the incident.
“The incident started around 3:00.a.m. Our officers were there and successfully put out the fire. The Federal Fire Service and other agencies were also there.”
When contacted, the Oyo State Police Command spokesperson, Adewale Osifeso, said: “The Incident was reported around the early hours of today (yesterday). Thankfully no fatalities were recorded. Discreet investigations have also commenced to ascertain the cause of the incident. Updates would be provided accordingly.”
The actual cause of the outbreak could not be confirmed at the time of filing this report.
Security agents were on the ground to ensure safety in the area as firefighters tried to put out the inferno.
