Fire breaks out at Lagos airport

Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.

Fire broke out on Thursday at the terminal of the E-Arrival Finger of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos.

It was gathered that the fire led to a power outage at the airport.

The incident led to panic among workers and passengers at the airport as travellers quickly left the place, which was engulfed by smoke, for the departure hall.

However, normal operations have commenced at the terminal as fire fighters have successfully put out the fire.

Also in September 2023, a suspected electrical spark at the baggage hall ceiling caused a fire outbreak at Terminal 1 of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport.

According to reports, the source of the outbreak was identified as a burning lithium inverter battery installation in the basement.
