The private residence of the Minister of State, FCT, Dr Mariya Mahmoud, was razed down by fire on Sunday afternoon.
Reports suggest that nothing was salvaged from No. 9, Justice Roseline Ukeji Close, Asokoro, as response was slow to arrive at the location.
Though no official statement has been released on the incident, the media Aide to the minister, Mr. Austine Elemue, who confirmed the incident, said the cause of the fire outbreak is being investigated.
Findings from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) fire service suggest that items affected all the household contents of the upper floor including walls, roof, a/c, beds, clothes, documents, credentials and jewelries, etc.
The cause of the fire is suspected to be an electrical fault inside the children’s room.
