The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has lined up two friendly matches for the Super Falcons as part of their preparations for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, a source at the federation has said.

Nigeria defeated South Africa 1-0 on aggregate to secure one of Africa’s two slots at the Olympics, which will hold from July 26 to April 11 in Paris, France.

Heeding to the call by Super Falcons’ Head Coach, Randy Waldrum, for adequate preparation for his team ahead of the Olympics, the source, who pleaded anonymity, told The Guardian yesterday that the NFF has concluded plans to move the team towards the end of next month.

“The NFF has already agreed to play two friendly games during the FIFA women’s window, which is from May 27 to June 4.

“The federation has not disclosed the countries we will be facing, but the Super Falcons’ backroom staff have been notified to start preparing for a camp in Europe next month,” he said.

The Super Falcons returned to Nigeria on Wednesday evening from South Africa where they beat the Banyana Banyana to the Paris 2024 ticket on Tuesday.

While most of the players and Coach Randy Waldrum left for their different bases direct from Johannesburg, eight players and the other team officials flew back to Lagos aboard a South African Airways flight.
