She took to social media to voice that she had not received all her prizes and money as promised by the show’s organizers. This statement comes amidst the announcement of the new Big Brother Naija season 9, which has already begun auditions.
Taking to her X account, Phyna wrote, “New show! Winner of season 7 nor see all her prizes and money. Well lemme mind my business before them go talk say I don go bite their hand… It is well.”
Phyna’s statement refers to her own experience after winning season 7, suggesting she hasn’t received all the promised prizes and money.
This undoubtedly casts a shadow over Big Brother Naija and its show organizers and sponsors.
Phyna, whose real name is Ijeoma Josephina Otabor, emerged as the winner of the Big Brother Naija season 7 (Level Up) which aired in 2022.
She entered the house as the tenth housemate and was declared the winner during the season finale on October 2, 2022, with 40.74% of the final votes.
Her victory was notable as she became the second female to win the show, securing a grand prize of ₦100 million, which included ₦50 million in cash and ₦50 million worth of additional awards provided by the show’s sponsors.
The sponsors for Big Brother Naija Season 7 were: PiggyVest(formerly Abeg),Flutterwave, Patricia, TECNO, Bet9ja, Dano Milk, Boomplay, and CloseUp.
