EFCC arrests 44 suspected internet fraudsters in Calabar

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 44 suspected internet fraudsters also referred to as Yahoo Boys in  Calabar, the Cross River State capital.


The Guardian learned that the suspects were arrested by investigators at the Uyo Zonal Command of the EFCC.

According to a statement by the EFCC, the suspected fraudsters were arrested in an early morning sting operation, on Thursday, at Satellite Town, Tinapa Junction and Parliamentary Extension, all in  Calabar Municipality Local Council of the state.

“Items recovered from them included six exotic cars, 16 laptops and 38 mobile phones.

“The suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded,” the statement added.
