All Progressives Congress (APC) chief in Etsako council of Edo State, Charles Aloaye Dagana, yesterday, said opportunity should be given to youths to contest in the coming council election in the state.

He expressed the need for youths to take over the mantle of leadership after years of playing the second fiddle.

He added that with the state’s political climate and economic situation, it was important the younger generation began to determine their future by deploying their expertise to proffer solutions to challenges.

Dagana, who is the founder/president of Charles Aloaye Dagana Foundation, noted that he decided to take part in the coming poll to inspire youths, who had kept away from politics and leadership positions.

Speaking to The Guardian in Benin City, Dagana said if he clinched the party’s ticket, his first action would be to transform Etsako council in all ramifications such that would impact on all residents and improve their economic and social status.
