Edo APC accuses Obaseki-led govt of under-performance

Ahead of the September 21 governorship election, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State, yesterday, scored the incumbent governor, Godwin Obaseki, low in terms of delivering good governance.

Briefing newsmen in Benin City, Media Consultant to the Edo APC Governorship Campaign Council, Prince Kassim Afegbua, said that the state must rise and free itself from the snares of under-development, asked Edo voters to work with a man who will promote collective enterprise for the overall good of its people.

He said: “Edo is rising from the ashes of the current dismal performance of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.

“We have come to the point in Edo state’s electoral trajectory where we must resist any attempt to use the state as a buffer for failed business enterprises.

“We cannot afford to hand the wheel of leadership over to failed businessmen, who will take over the reins of power in our state for their private gains.”

“If we repeat the same mistake, when they are done pillaging our resources, they will quietly exit to their familiar terrain.”

Afegbua noted that the state needs a man like Monday Okpebholo, who lives among them and shares in their troubles, aspirations and is ready to take the lead in search of ways to raise the state in ranking among the best places to live in, work, and play in the world.
