Cybersecurity expert advises JAMB candidates on futuristic courses to study

South African-based Nigerian businessman and cybersecurity expert, Charles Awuzie, has advised Nigerians seeking to write this year’s Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) to apply for futuristic and global relevant courses that would prepare them for the global stage and work.

The founder of Gemsbork Group and co-founder of the Transhuman Coin (THC) made this known on Monday while responding to messages from his Facebook followers seeking his advice on courses that are relevant for the future and the Nigerian universities offering them.

According to Awuzie, his intention of taking the pain to advise young university admission seekers is because he believes that “the new Nigeria shall rise through education.”

He advised that those seeking university admission should know that the world is more connected today than it has ever been.
“Do not limit your study choices to what is deemed relevant or irrelevant in just one country. You should aim to study for a global stage,” he advised.

He gave an example of how a biochemist’s value may differ from Nigeria to the United Kingdom, adding that while a biochemist might be overlooked in Nigeria, they could be highly esteemed in the UK.

“Therefore, when you study, do so with the mindset of preparing yourself for humanity at large,” he added.

Awuzie went on to list the four futuristic courses that he deemed globally relevant and the Nigerian universities where they could be studied.

The first was Genetics and Biotechnology at the University of Calabar, Akwa Ibom State University, and the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN).

For Genetics and Biotechnology, he announced that “Transhuman Coin will provide additional funding for research in this discipline to students in Nigeria.”
The second course was Computing and Artificial Intelligence at Hillside University of Science and Technology, Ekiti State.

The third course was Cybersecurity at the Canadian University Abuja, the Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO), the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA), Delta State University (DELSU), and Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Oyo State.

The last course he listed was Intelligence and Security Studies at the Afe Babalola University (ABUAD), Ekiti State; Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Kaduna State; Ekiti State University (EKSU), and Novena University, Delta State.
