*Urges aggrieved Lagosians to forgive Sanwo-Olu

The Yoruba Council Worldwide has urged eligible voters in Lagos State to crown the effort of the incumbent governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu term with another term in office.

The group also stated that it has thrown its weight behind the second-term ambition of Sanwo-Olu and solicited the support of Lagosian during the Saturday Governorship Election.

The Council, which made its position known on Thursday in Abuja, added that the achievements of the Governor in the last four years should be crowned with another term.

Speaking on behalf of the Council, its President, Aare Oba Oladotun Hassan, said that the Council comes out to endorse Sanwo-Olu because it wants a continuation of the good developments of the last four years.

“That is why we are stating categorically and in my capacity as the President of the Yoruba Council Worldwide that on behalf of Yoruba globally and with the support of all our traditional rulers in Lagos State, Sanwo-Olu should be returned for a second term.

“We plead with all Lagosians to come out and vote for the governor on Saturday. Whoever feels offended should for the sake of democracy forgive the governor and let all of us rally around him.”

Adding: “Governor Sanwo-Olu is a man of exceptional dynamism, a listener and a good crisis manager. The steady and self-assured way he has been piloting the affairs of Lagos State cutting across every sector with characteristic skills and sobriety is commendable.

“His great exploits in the areas of infrastructure development, youth empowerment, education, health, direct foreign investment and transportation (rail and land transportation) among others are enormous.”

Hassan who was also a Lagos East People’s Democratic Party, (PDP) Senatorial aspirant used the occasion to announce his defection from the party to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.

He explained that his move into the APC is to mobilize for the success of Sanwo-Olu ahead of the governorship election in the state.
