Two women miners have lost their lives, while three others sustained injuries when an open-pit mine collapsed on them at Bar Kudu village in Bogoro Local Council of Bauchi State.
The lawmaker representing the area at the State House of Assembly, Hon. Musa Nakwada, who disclosed this yesterday, during the plenary, said the injured victims are receiving treatment.
He said: “ Two of the women died while others survived with injuries. The funeral arrangements for the deceased were done while the injured persons were receiving medical attention.”
The Speaker, Abubakar Suleiman expressed his sympathy to the House and people of Bogoro Constituency and called on Bogoro Local Council to assist the victims.
