Chelsea FC has announced the signing of Tosin Adarabioyo, a 26-year-old defender from Fulham, on a free transfer.

Adarabioyo, a former Manchester City trainee, has agreed to a four-year contract and will join Chelsea on July 1.

He expressed his excitement about joining the team, stating that it’s a ‘full-circle moment’ for him, having been born nearby and made his professional debut at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea’s co-sporting directors praised Adarabioyo’s maturity, defensive skills, and Premier League experience.

This signing marks the first since Enzo Maresca’s appointment as manager, following Mauricio Pochettino’s departure.

Adarabioyo’s arrival follows Thiago Silva’s exit to Fluminense, and Chelsea’s spending on signings has exceeded £1 billion since the club’s acquisition by the Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital consortium in May 2022.
