Charles Inojie Bids Farewell to ‘The Johnsons’ After 13 Years

Veteran actor Charles Inojie has officially announced the end of the beloved Nigerian series, ‘The Johnsons,’ marking the conclusion of a 13-year-long entertainment era.


Inojie, famed for his role as Lucky Johnson, took to Instagram to share the news and express gratitude to the show’s dedicated viewers, cast, and crew.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, Inojie reminisced about the 13 years of magic, awesomeness, and becoming Africa’s most-watched show on television.

“THANK YOU, AFRICA. After 13 years of absolute magic,13 years of awesomeness,13 years of being Africa’s most-watched show on television, 13 years of being every family’s favorite,” he said.

“THE JOHNSONS is finally taking a bow. I thank my co-travelers, the wonderful team of cast and crew, without whom these past 13 years could not have been spectacularly outstanding as THE JOHNSONS made it.

“I am immensely grateful to our fans across the African continent for the love and support we got unconditionally.”

Acknowledging the support from fans across Africa, he added, “While it is the beginning of greater exploits from every individual member of the team, like every good thing that must have a terminal point, it is the end of the road for THE JOHNSONS. THANK YOU” He said.

The sitcom, known for its humor and heartwarming moments, entertained audiences across the continent. Inojie thanked fans for their unconditional love and support, acknowledging the spectacular journey that ‘The Johnsons’ provided.

This announcement comes 19 months after the passing of actress Ada Ameh, a pivotal member of the show. In a touching tribute, Inojie shared a clip of the cast and crew remembering Ameh, highlighting the impact of her loss on the team. Ameh’s death in July 2022 had led to a one-year remembrance event in her honor.

As ‘The Johnsons’ takes its final bow, Inojie assured fans that it marks the beginning of greater exploits for each team member individually.

While bidding farewell to the iconic series, he emphasized the team’s gratitude for the incredible support received from fans across the African continent.
