Former ‘Big Brother Naija’ housemate, Phyna, made waves with her bold statement that ₦5 million Naira is mere pocket change to her. The reality TV star, known for her confident demeanor, expressed her indifference towards the sum, stating that she could easily make that amount without leaving the comfort of her home.
Phyna’s remarks came in response to a scenario where she was offered ₦5 million Naira. “This whole thing makes me feel like some Nigerians are somehow, because how much is five million Naira? It’s just five thousand dollars, bro,” she began. The former housemate went on to justify her perspective, highlighting the fact that she has more than five thousand dollars sitting idle in her dollar account, which she doesn’t even remember. Consequently, rejecting ₦5 million Naira seemed inconsequential to her.
The reality star emphasized that the sum of five million Naira holds little value in her eyes because she possesses the means to earn it comfortably. “Five million Naira is something I can make in my comfort zone in my house. I don’t need to open my door to make five million, and a lot of people are seeing it as one big deal,” Phyna explained. She found the situation amusing and even questioned the motives behind someone offering her such an amount. “Even if I’m a poor girl, you can’t just walk up to me just like that to offer me five million. Do you want to kill me? What is so special about me that you want to give me five million just like that?” she added.
