Abubakar had halted employment to allow him verify authentic workers, as the workforce, according to him, was gulping up a lion’s share of the state’s resources. His successor, Mohammed, maintained the embargo for four years, while scrutinising payroll to expunge ghost workers.
Following his second inauguration, Mohammed announced lifting of the ban, saying he was fulfilling promise made on May 29, 2023, during his swearing in.
Head of Service, Adamu Yahuza, made the disclosure to newsmen, yesterday.
He said 1,000 of the workers would be teachers of Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Biology and Information Communications and Technology (ICT), while 206 would serve as agricultural extension workers and farm managers.
Also, 154 would be posted to the College of Education in Azare, while 120 would work at the Sharia Court of Appeal.
