The State Commissioner for Higher Education, Professor Muktar Umar Bunza, said the payment would commence soonest so that students could pay for registration at their various institutions.
The commissioner further revealed that the state government has approved the commencement of screening of about 500 indigent students to be sent to India, Cyprus and Turkey to study nursing, engineering and paramedical professions.
He said the state government has also allocated funds for the renovation of laboratories and offices of head of departments at the College of Health Sciences and Technology, Jega.
Similarly, the commissioner said the government had confirmed the appointment of Dr. Abubakar Abubakar as the Provost, Adamu Aleiro College of Education, Argungu; Dr. Mohammed Murtala Musa, Provost, College of Nursing Sciences, Birnin-Kebbi and Mallam Sa’adu Haruna as Provost, College of Health Sciences and Technology, Jega.
According to the commissioner, the appointment is with immediate effect and for five years, a single term.
While congratulating the provosts, Bunza said their confirmation was based on merit during their acting capacity.
