ASAP Rocky Pleads Not Guilty in Friend Shooting Case

Hip-hop star ASAP Rocky entered a not guilty plea today in Los Angeles after being charged with assaulting his former friend, A$AP Relli, with a semiautomatic firearm in November 2021. The plea marks the latest development in a case that has drawn significant media attention.

Rocky’s lawyer, Joe Tacopina, expressed the defense’s eagerness for a swift resolution, aiming for a trial date by September. “We want to get this done and over so he can start enjoying his family and move on,” Tacopina told reporters. He further vowed to present evidence in court that “shows that he’s truly innocent and a victim in this case.”

Rocky currently remains free on bond and is expected back in court for a preliminary hearing in March. While details of the alleged incident remain disputed, today’s plea sets the stage for a potentially drawn-out legal battle and a close examination of the events surrounding the shooting.
