Appease God for nation’s challenges, Adam tells religious bodies

The Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, Gani Adams, has urged religious bodies across the country to start a prayer of appeasement to God over the challenges facing the country.

He said the 21-day programme slated for the Eledumare festival would be used to honour and appease the Almighty God.

Adams stated this at a briefing in Ikeja, Lagos, while unveiling the activities slated for the celebration of the 2022 edition of the festival.

He added that Eledumare festival had the spiritual potential to trigger both economic prosperity and progress if only the country can toe the line of honour and ensure justice at all levels.

The Aare Ona Kakanfo also said it had become necessary to commit the agitation for the restructuring of the country to true federalism into prayers, saying: “It is the only saving grace to salvage the country from imminent collapse. This is necessary because the power at be, like the Presidency and the power-brokers, had failed to heed the calls.

“Nigeria can hardly make meaningful progress with the present situation. Things are going the wrong way on daily basis and those that are in the best positions to help salvage the nation from imminent collapse have lost touch with the people at the grassroots.”
