Amusan Wins Stockholm 100m Hurdles

Nigerian hurdler Tobi Amusan continued her winning streak on Sunday, winning the 100m hurdles event at the Stockholm Diamond League.

Amusan finished the race with a time of 12.52 seconds, beating Sarah Lavin of Ireland (12.73 seconds) and Pia Skrzyszowska of Poland (12.78 seconds).

The win is Amusan’s second Diamond League victory of the season, having also won the event in Lausanne, Switzerland, last month.

Amusan is the current world record holder in the 100m hurdles, having set a time of 12.06 seconds at the World Athletics Championships in Oregon last year.

Amusan’s victory in Stockholm is a major boost ahead of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.

Amusan is one of the favourites to win gold in the 100m hurdles at the Olympics, and her recent performances suggest that she is in top form.

In a post-race interview, Amusan said that she was “very happy” with her victory.

She said that she had been working hard in training and that she was “confident” in her ability to win gold at the Olympics.

Amusan’s victory is a major moment for Nigerian athletics. She is the first Nigerian woman to win a Diamond League event in the 100m hurdles.

Her success is an inspiration to young athletes in Nigeria and around the world.
