As three other candidates parade themselves as authentic Imo governorship candidates of the Labour Party (LP), the South East National Vice Chairman of the party, Innocent Okeke, yesterday, maintained that Athan Achonu is the only recognised governorship candidate of the party in the state.
Okeke maintained that the only primary held in the state was the one at Land Mark Event Centre, Owerri, where Achonu emerged on April 15.
The Guardian gathered that Chibutu Isiguzo, Ikechukwu Ukaegbu and Basil Madugba are claiming to be authentic candidates, who emerged at different locations, in Owerri, on the same day.
Okeke, however, urged other aspirants to embrace the peace move by the party’s leadership, and team up with party members for successful outing during the forthcoming November 11 governorship election in the state.
