Alusi Kehinde secures LP’s ticket for Feb 3 Surulere Reps bye-election

Engr. Alusi Kehinde has emerged the Labour Party (LP)’s candidate in the forthcoming bye-election slated for February 3rd, to jostle for a replacement for the vacant seat of Surulere Federal Constituency 1 vacated by Femi Gbajabiamila.

LP held a primary on Friday to select its candidate, which saw Kehinde emerged winner.

The party appointed a four-man Committee saddled with responsibility of conducting the primary election; Osho Segun, Azubuike Peter, Comrade Damilare Emmanuel and Comrade Richard A. Oliseyenum, as witnessed by representatives of the National Working Committee of the Party led by its National Publicity Secretary, Dr Abayomi Arabambi.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies and the media were also present.

The newly elected candidate, Kehinde, was described by Taoreed Adedeji, his Media Consultant in a statement, as a successful real estate entrepreneur, who has successfully developed different estates within the Lagos and Ogun state axis.

Adedeji added : “Alusi is prepared to positively amplify legislative representation in Surulere Federal Constituency 1 through his Six points agenda and they are; Sponsorship of people-centred motions and enactment of bills, Human Capital Development Programs, Educational Support Programs, Entrepreneurship Support Programs, Infrastructural Development, Healthcare and Sports.

“In his quest to contribute to national development and positively rewrite the narrative for a people focused development program, Engr. Alusi Kehinde joined the 3rd force movement that formally fuse into the Labour Party (LP) to help give birth to a new Nigeria.

“There is no gainsaying that the Labour Party after the last general elections has catalyzed political awareness in Nigeria more importantly encouraging the electorates to actively take part in the electoral process.

“It is indeed a new dawn in Surulere Federal Constituency 1 propelled by creative thinking and innovative strategies.”
