Alome, Onoka harp on clerics’ sound health, excellence in ministry

The need to tactically navigate, or avert factors that retard the growth and progress of ministries, as well as those that endanger the wellbeing of clerics, formed the kernel of discussions at a conference where pastors and ministry leaders were empowered with hands-on knowledge and resources essential for enhanced productivity and excellence in ministry.

The ministers’ conference in Lagos, which was held at the K & M Event Centre, New Oko-Oba, Abule-Egba, Lagos, was at the behest of the Newcastle, United Kingdom-based City of God Christian Centre, in partnership with the Achievers Sanctuary International.

Coordinator of the conference and Senior Pastor of Achievers Sanctuary International, Joe Alome, who spoke on a wide range of issues, shed more light on what pastors should do to become successful in their ministries and family lives, and how not to compromise their health.

Alome, who equally dwelt on how to ensure leadership excellence, wisdom in flock management, crisis management, and resilience in adversity, stressed that the whole essence of the conference was purely “equipping pastors for holistic ministry development.”

He further stressed the importance of the “need for faith if we must please God as His servants,” saying that faith is such an essential requirement in the ministry.

Visioner/Pioneer of the conference and Lead Pastor of the City of God, Christian Centre, Apostle Bright Onoka, spoke about the importance of clerics being obedient to their heavenly vision, staying true to their calling, and being adept at careful financial planning. He also emphasised the need for personal development and associating with the right people to enable them to excel in the work of the ministry.

The conference, which had in attendance about 500 pastors and church leaders, provided a platform for some of the clerics to once again interface with one another.
